my vote goes to... - Forum Owners

...my own site because after all i am english and i have to nominate myself (its the law).

here is a brief description of my site/forum:

Halo 2 tips and cheats forum however covering the original halo but mainly concentrating on halo 2 started of as a google group. after that it was a runboard forum and now i have set up a site for it altogether, (with forum obv). This is my first site that i have acctually made so please forgive if there are any 'noobish' errors on it.

I set the site up 1 week ago today and so far there are 4 members (not many but every site has to start somewhere). For it to be truley a tips and cheats site it needs more members to give there tips so please dont vote due to lack of content at this point in time.

Okay it seems your running a free site there have you tried purchasing hosting and building one from scratch they look alot nicer plus you dont have to have others advertising on it?

should self-nominations be allowed??

If they are, then unless they're dull, everyone will vote for their own forum. It's not my desicion to pick, but I just feel that the community will get closer and such, when other members vote for other members forums

This one is built from scratch its just not free because i cant be arsed to pay yet but if i get more members using it then i will pay, this is sort of a trial period for the website.

Self nomination will only be allowed until the member base grows as there are not enough users to get a full list of entries.

Yeah i am thinking of changing to forum of the month this will allow more entries and less work on my behalf

I was thinking a better way to do it would be for you or some other assigned person to check out the forums in the forum showcase then pick 5 of what he/she thinks are the best then creates a poll in which everyone else votes on them, so you dont get people like me nominating their own sites the voters have to vote for one of the five put forward. Just an idea but i think it would work, by the way if you needed someone to do this i will if you want.

Okay sounds like a good idea maybe i can pick 5 which i think are the best and make a post with a poll this might be better has yu may not want to post your own forum

I really like that idea, and maybe encourage not having members vote for their own. It will make for a better competition
