Default What Hurts Ranking ?

Excessive search engine submittal, broken links, excessive punctuation, empty alt attributes, spam (this refers to any attempt to trick a search engine, such as using irrelevant keywords to draw extra hits, placing invisible content on the page to boost keyword density, and using meta refreshes -often in combination with irrelevant keywords- to draw a user in for an irrelevant search and then direct them to the page you want them to see. These techniques can result in a ban from search engines if they catch them.)

Is there some sort of program that can help eliminate these issues, besides manually?

Smile Ranking Factors

I just posted this somewhere else, but it also seems to fit well here.

A write-up of Search Engine Ranking Factors compliments of RandFish over at SEOmoz.

It covers the good and bad ranking factors for major search engines. It is also very current and up-to-date despite the many changes search engines make.

Hope you learn a lot!

Too Many Keywords in Meta Tags not a good idea!
